Position Summary:
In addition to giving staff direction and direct help to residents, the location supervisor is in charge of overseeing a DASCH home. Together, the program manager and the site supervisor are in charge of providing excellent, individualized support and creating a safe and comfortable home environment. Making sure the people we assist have access to community resources and services while speaking out for them is one of the responsibilities of this role.
Schedule:
- Full-time, Monday through Friday (no weekends are allowed).
- The workday schedule is comprised of direct support responsibilities from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm and 9 a.m. to 5:00 pm. Alterations in administrative responsibilities
- The ability to respond to emergencies while on call with flexibility
- From Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m.
- Today is Friday, 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Flexibility in work hours is necessary to the position’s requirements.

- Perform personal care duties, including lifting and transferring.
- Maintain effective communication with the program manager, personnel, families, and other departments within DASCH, as well as external stakeholders.
- Maintain and upload to the appropriate online systems.
- Foster recreation, community engagement, and individual connections by coordinating weekly activities to ensure a balance of personal and social opportunities.
- Acknowledge and value the interests and preferences of each individual to facilitate the decision-making process and promote autonomy.
- Under the established protocols, provide on-call assistance.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and exercises, and generate reports as required for the supervised location.
- Conduct performance evaluations, motivation, and supervision of the direct support staff.
- Ensure that all mandatory training for newly recruited personnel is documented and completed.

Skills & Qualifications for Home Supervisor Jobs:
- A preferable qualification is a minimum of two years of supervisory experience, team management expertise, and leadership abilities.
- A minimum of two years of experience in disability support or a suitable combination of practical knowledge and accredited education are the preferred qualifications.
- A comprehensive comprehension of intellectual disabilities and a certificate in disability and community support are regarded as assets.
- You must possess a Class 5 Manitoba driver’s license, either full or intermediate.
- Mileage reimbursement is provided, and it is mandatory to have access to a vehicle during both scheduled schedules and on-call hours.
- Proficient written and oral communication skills are essential.
- It is indispensable to possess proficiency in technology, which encompasses the Microsoft Office application.
The completion of background investigations, including employment reference checks, a Criminal Record Check (CRC) with a Vulnerable Sector Search, an Adult Abuse Registry Check (AARC), and a Child Abuse Registry Check (CARC), is a prerequisite for employment with DASCH. CRCs, AARCs, and CARCs that are no more than three months old at the time of your application will all be accepted by DASCH. Employment is not guaranteed by the possession of these documents.
